Stranger Things is coming to virtual reality – and the world just keeps on expanding! Stranger Things VR is premiering on December 5, 2024, for Steam and PlayStation VR2 access doorways, giving fans a deeply immersive glimpse into the Stranger Things universe. This game by Tender Claws lets players explore the spooky Upside Down through the eyes of Vecna the show’s big bad and launches on Quest 2 and Quest 3.
Step into Vecna’s World
Instead of playing as one of the heroic characters in Stranger Things VR players will be stepping into the mind of Vecna, one of the most sinister villains in the series. This unique development allows fans to explore Vecnas origin while seeing his evil sort of gain perspective through the eyes and shoes as it were of him (the happiest feet on earth though Im sure evil wears it best). The game is a psychiatric horror with exciting fight, supernatural powers and a narrative that introduces players to some of the most legendary places and characters in the series.
Gameplay and Features
The game combines action, horror and mystery with Stranger Things VR. The players assume the role of Vecna himself, god-like powers to defeat foes and solve puzzles. You will be able to wield Vecna’s supernatural powers, explore distorted planes of existence, and fight old enemies in alternate dimensions and the Upside Down.
Mixed Reviews and What to Expect
The original Quest 3 release met with divided responses, especially regarding gameplay and combat systems; if new optimizations or graphical enhancements have been made, PS VR2 and Steam may be in-line for them. Tender Claws is looking to expand upon the experience and improve cross platform with a look at some feedback and a larger audience for an even slicker experience.
